Prompt: An editorial close-up portrait under cool blue studio light, a quiet expression, natural skin texture, subtle lavender shadows and a clean cinematic composition.

YOUR IDEA. YOUR DIRECTION.

AI Image Editor No Filter: Direct the Part You Want to Change

Use a painted selection to explain a local change: remove a distracting object, repaint a garment or replace part of a background. More creative room means a choice of editing models and clear controls. It does not remove the selected provider's limits or the rights and consent required for your source image.

Paint a Mask, Protect the Surrounding Scene

Upload your image, brush over the region to edit and describe the replacement. Use the eraser to protect an edge, undo and redo to refine the selection, or invert the mask to select the surrounding area. Choose a mask-compatible model for a painted edit; instruction-only models do not all accept masks.

Repair an Object or Rebuild a Background

For object removal, paint slightly beyond the object's boundary and describe the surface behind it. For a background change, protect the foreground subject and select the scene around it. Download and inspect the result: generative editing can still alter details outside your intended boundary.

Export the Selection or Resize Without Generation

Mask painting and PNG mask export work on your device before you spend image units. The separate resize tool exports 2× or 4× images using browser interpolation. Resizing increases dimensions; it does not claim to reconstruct new AI detail.

Questions About Masked Image Editing

01Which part of a masked edit does Tintmill change?+

The painted mask selects the region for the requested replacement. Use the eraser to protect details and inversion to swap the selection. The result still needs review because a generative model may change surrounding pixels.

02Can I export a mask before spending image units?+

Yes. Upload, brush, erase, undo, redo and export a PNG mask locally. Submitting an AI repaint is a separate action that requires sign-in and sufficient image units.

03Why does my selected editor not accept a painted mask?+

The catalog includes both instruction editors and mask-compatible routes. Choose a mask-compatible model in the editor for a painted edit, or use a written reference-edit instruction with an instruction-only option.

04Where should I start for a whole-photo restyle?+

Use the unrestricted photo editor guide for reference-image instructions, background direction and preservation notes when a tightly painted local selection is not the main task.
